Director of Post-Surgical Services & Neuroscience Unit
Job Summary
Client is seeking a Director of Post-Surgical Services & Neuroscience Unit to lead and oversee operations for these critical care units. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this position is responsible for ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective patient care, maintaining staff competency, and managing departmental resources efficiently.
The Director provides 24/7 leadership, overseeing clinical operations, patient care standards, financial management, and regulatory compliance. This role includes strategic planning, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for staff recruitment, retention, training, and professional development, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement departmental goals and strategic plans aligned with hospital objectives.
- Oversee patient care delivery, service quality, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and career development.
- Monitor department budgets to ensure financial efficiency while maintaining high-quality care.
- Integrate evidence-based nursing practices to improve patient safety and outcomes.
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with hospital, state, and national healthcare standards.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in hospital-wide strategic planning and committee leadership.
- Ensure the department provides an exceptional patient experience that aligns with Client’s mission and values.

Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) or a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Required: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in post-surgical or neuroscience units.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership/management experience (preferred).
