Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for independently executing preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks, as well as collaborating with other plant personnel. This role involves troubleshooting issues, repairing production and facilities equipment failures, and ensuring optimal equipment efficiency. Additionally, the technician will provide guidance and training to other production personnel, all while aligning with the company's policies, goals, and objectives.Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)
- Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
- Execute all assigned maintenance service requests.
- Manage spare part inventory for cost-effective operations.
- Assist in ensuring successful maintenance audits.
- Develop and coordinate maintenance plans with the production department.
- Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment, including mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps.
- Replace or repair control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, and contactors as needed.
- Conduct work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
- Regularly inspect facilities and machines.
- Implement corrective measures for quality improvement.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the maintenance shop.Education and Experience Required
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Strong background in progressive maintenance and excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
- Strong mechanical skills that foster team confidence, collaboration, and respect.
- Outstanding critical thinking skills utilizing a Stabilize/Standardize/Optimize problem-solving and root-cause analysis approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary for building and maintaining good working relationships.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.Equipment to Be Used
- Manufacturing machines and other related equipment.
- Basic office equipment (computer, printer, fax, etc.).Typical Physical & Mental Demands
- Job tasks may involve sitting, walking, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to independently lift up to 35lbs.
- Primarily works in the manufacturing area, where temperatures can exceed 100ºF.Personal Protective Equipment
- Safety glasses that meet OSHA Z-87.1-1989 standards.
- Additional PPE as required in various departments.
