Our firm is seeking an experienced Senior Audit Associate with a background in the construction industry for a full-time position. The position can be based in either our Parsippany, NJ or NYC offices, and offers a hybrid work schedule with 2-3 days in the office or at client sites.

The Senior Audit Associate will be responsible for demonstrating advanced accounting and auditing skills, and a comprehensive understanding of tax responsibilities.
They will supervise engagement teams, work independently, and interact with clients on a regular basis. Moreover, the Senior Audit Associate will oversee most stages of the engagement, including planning, execution, and wrap-up, to meet and exceed client expectations and deadlines.
The ideal candidate for this position should have a thorough understanding of the client's business, industry, products, services, and internal controls.
Furthermore, they should possess a working knowledge of business-related issues such as organizational structure, business agreements, financing, insurance, and performance assessment, to provide suggestions for improvements and reply to client questions.
The Senior Audit Associate should demonstrate expertise in accounting, including analyzing complex accounts and account relationships, preparing complex financial statements, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting and auditing pronouncements.
They should also have general knowledge of tax laws and be able to prepare moderate-level tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively with clients in writing and orally, and document the results of accounting or auditing procedures performed.
They should also have experience managing engagement budgets and proactively communicating potential issues to managers and partners as necessary. In addition, the Senior Audit Associate should play an active role in expanding the firm's role with existing clients and identifying efficient methodologies and best practices to apply in future engagements.
They should also provide quality training and feedback to team members and delegate tasks appropriately based on risk, engagement status, and staff developmental opportunities.
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, with an MST/MBA as a plus, and at least three years of public accounting experience.
A CPA license is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting, auditing, and tax software is required. The candidate should have a positive attitude, be cooperative, flexible, and able to multitask.
They should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and actively work towards achieving their personal career goals.
