**Job Description** The incumbent will assist customers in identifying their technical specifications and determining the necessary documentation to integrate the organization's products into customer applications. Responsibilities include preparing engineering drawings, production specifications, schedules, and contract modifications to ensure compliance with customers' technical requirements.
The individual will develop application notes that elucidate the proper usage of the organization's products within customers' target applications and create test applications utilized for testing modules, including customer-specific components. The client designs, manufactures, markets, and implements High Voltage Underground Cable and Systems across North America. The client’s strategy aims to aggressively expand its sales volume in HV underground cables, accessories, and installation, along with its portfolio of ancillary products and services related to cable systems. The Senior High Voltage Cable Design Engineering position entails the design and analysis of parts, components, assemblies, and subassemblies of underground HV/EHV transmission cable systems, alongside the production of pertinent drawings and instructions. This position will assist the engineering manager in leading and training the High Voltage cable engineering team. Under limited direction, the individual will undertake a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering, as well as an understanding of high-voltage equipment and engineering aspects necessary to achieve objectives in a cost-effective manner. The individual is expected to proactively seek and implement initiatives aimed at improving operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: - Under limited direction, design comprehensive cable system solutions, which include accessories, link boxes, fiber optic components, grounding details, and bonding schemes for voltage classes ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV. This will involve utilizing advanced computer programs, analytical techniques, or control strategies to effectively meet project and bid requirements while addressing challenges.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in examining the electro-mechanical behavior of HV/EHV cable systems to support installation and field applications.
- Lead the preparation of specifications, proposals for contracts, licensing and safety documents, while securing necessary approvals in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing and Project Management teams. Revise and enhance existing processes to achieve greater efficiency.
- Provide ongoing support to manufacturing throughout the production cycle. This includes developing testing plans, leading design handover meetings, and resolving issues on the manufacturing floor. Offer recommendations to facilitate interactions between production, installation, and the customer.
- Act as a principal investigator or lead team of engineers in investigating problems, developing solutions, and preparing relevant recommendations and reports. Execute Research & Development projects, including planning, forecasting timelines, managing budgets, and coordinating logistics using the “Stage Gate” process.
- Represent the HV engineering group in meetings and conferences, engage with customers to provide training seminars, resolve significant technical issues, and develop related action plans. Deliver formal technical presentations to customers and at industry forums and conferences.
- Train, educate, and assist junior-level engineers with their projects and calculations.
- Promote safety within the workplace and all project sites in alignment with the Culture of ZERO. **Requirements** **Must-Haves:**

Technical input, recommendations, and decisions may significantly influence the organization's effectiveness and customer relations.
- Proficiency in adherence to ICEA, AEIC, IEC, and IEEE standards, in addition to thermal, mechanical, and electrical field calculations. - Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong technical writing proficiency and excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and internal personnel, including leadership.
- Expertise in software applications such as Cymcap, Comsol Multiphysics, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Matlab, PSCAD, Pull Planner, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Proficiency in Visual Basic and similar programming languages, primarily for the purpose of coding spreadsheets and macros within Microsoft Excel.
