Job Summary
The registered Sonographer will provide comprehensive ultrasound services, efficiently and accurately, to patients across various settings within the Imaging Services Department. This position requires a commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and adherence to departmental policies and standards. The Sonographer will verify procedural information, educate patients and families, perform ultrasound exams, and ensure all imaging data and reports are properly processed and communicated to the radiologists and physicians.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ultrasound exams on patients in various settings
- Prepare patients and explain procedures, ensuring patient comfort and understanding
- Process imaging data, manage patient files, and communicate results with radiologists
- Maintain exam rooms, including cleaning, stocking, and equipment maintenance
- Participate in ongoing Hospital and Departmental training and educational programs
- Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned in the department’s Policy and Procedure Manual
Qualifications
- Certification: ARDMS or ARRT in at least two advanced certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Required within 7 days of hire
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Sonographer
- Additional Competencies: Ability to work collaboratively, respond to feedback constructively, and effectively communicate with patients and team members
Schedule
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday, with occasional night shifts and on-call/weekend hours as needed
