Medical Assistant - Coverage
Job Specific Position Duties: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
CORE Duties:
• Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
• Check patient's vital signs, to include temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
• Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form.
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
• Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
• Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released.
Duties- Specific:
In addition to the duties listed in the basic contract, the following additional or supplemental duties are required for HCWs on this TO. The duties for the HCW are as follows but not limited to:
Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
Performs general patient care procedures per appropriate SOP’s.
Recognized and institute’s emergency measures as needed.
Check patient's vital signs, to include temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form and any other charting requirements.
Documents findings from interview in MHS Genesis, ideally using the Tri-Service Workflow (TSE-COMPASS) template.
Ensures the reports are available for the provider during prescreening of the health record prior to each scheduled visit.
Assist the provider during examination as needed.
Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
Maintains condition of equipment/ stock and cleanliness of examination rooms and UCC team spaces per Department SOP.
Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
Work Schedule:
Coverage shifts available:Weekends/Holidays, 7:45am - 4:15pmNo Call, No Call-Back
Minimum Qualifications:
* Education: Graduate from an accredited or military Medical Assistant program
* Experience: Minimum 1 year experience, within the past 2 years
* License: None
* Board Certification: None
* Life Support Certifications: BLS
* Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.
