Physical Therapist - Weekends
Client is a non-profit, mission-based 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1997 by non-profit post-acute and community-based organizations specializing in the care of older adults and adults with disabilities. Their services include long-term care, housing, hospice, home care, assisted living, adult-day health, rehabilitation (PT/OT/SLP), mobile dental, audiology, podiatry, psychiatry, brain health, and wellness services. Client’s mission is to help individuals maintain their independence and quality of life in the place they call home.
We are seeking a part-time Physical Therapist to join our Central and Northern RI Region teams for weekend coverage. Occasional travel to other areas may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
Perform all functions of a staff Physical Therapist within the clinical scope of practice.
Diagnose patients by observing movements and understanding their concerns.
Review patients' medical histories to develop individualized treatment plans.
Outline clear goals for patients, including expected outcomes.
Use exercises, equipment, and hands-on therapy to manage pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury.
Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Educate patients and families about the recovery process.
Oversee Physical Therapist Assistants as necessary.
Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Administrative and Organizational Duties:
Understand and follow departmental policies and procedures.
Independently organize schedules to prioritize patient care and facility needs.
Manage a caseload that meets facility productivity standards.
Ensure equipment is in working condition and meets departmental standards.
Apply treatment indications and contraindications appropriately.

Requirements
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a CAPTE-accredited program.
Valid Physical Therapist license in Rhode Island.
Interest in working with diverse populations, including individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD).
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Current (or willingness to obtain) BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
