About the Role

 

The Tax Specialist plays an active role in the delivery of tax planning engagements, meeting expectations for budget, timeframe and quality.

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Performing technical research and prepare tax correspondence and memos for estate planning and corporate reorganizations
  • Completing complex tax planning calculations for corporate reorganizations and divestitures
  • Completing complex tax compliance
  • Providing support for team members on tax related matters for all clients
  • On an ongoing basis, identify opportunities for additional Rise services with existing clients and proactively move the opportunity forward within the firm as required

 Required Experience, Qualifications and Characteristics:

  • Undergraduate university degree
  • CPA designation
  • Enrolled in the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course would be an asset but not required
  • 3 years of public practice experience
  • Familiarity with the issues and challenges faced by small-to-medium sized businesses
  • Independent, highly motivated, and a self-starter
  • Multi-tasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Effective relationship-builder – we want our clients and your direct reports to love you!
