This job involves verifying order data entry and comparing the prescription to the original one provided by the doctor to ensure all information entered into the system is accurate. You will also need to file the order properly under the correct ABC system in the store. Your main responsibility would be to deliver sales by providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone. You should be able to explain all procedures included under the exam fee in detail, while maintaining a friendly and pleasant demeanor with customers at all times. You will take measurements, make sure the correct frame selection is made, read prescriptions on the lensometer, and give timely notifications of product readiness. You will also need to track the progress of each job in the system and handle all money-related transactions. To achieve sales and metric goals, you will educate patients on the benefits of available products and recommend those that will improve their visual needs. During downtime, you will engage with members in front of Optical. You are required to adhere to all privacy and confidential/proprietary company policies and procedures, such as the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). You will provide support to members in making eyeglass adjustments and repairs. You will assist the Optical Manager with the opening and closing procedures at the beginning and end of your shift. You must ensure that accurate funds are collected, and payments are made at the point of service. It is essential that you maintain all club policies and procedures. Finally, you may be assigned other duties as needed. Regular attendance is critical to this job.

Qualifications
To work as an optician in the State, it is important to hold a valid license and keep it up to date and active. Having knowledge of optical products and business practices is preferred.
A high school diploma, college degree, or experience in big box wholesale, retail, and/or optical industry is also desirable.
