Job Description:
Assists the Director of the unit with organizing, directing, and supervising the operational functions within the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include ensuring policy and procedures adherence, maintaining safe staffing levels, managing supplies and equipment, and overseeing efficient patient throughput. Engages in quality and performance improvement, invests in lifelong learning for staff professional development, and ensures compliance with required annual competencies. Communicates vital information to the Director of the unit and the CNO as needed.

Required Education:

• Associate’s degree is required
• Bachelor’s degree (BSN) is preferred

Required License:

• Registered Nurse in North Carolina or Compact state is required

Required Certification:

• BLS is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS is required within 30 days of hire
• PALS is required within 90 days of hire

Required Experience:

• 1-3 years supervisory experience in the ED required

Must-Haves:

• 1-3 years supervisory experience in the ED
• Associate’s degree is required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required
