**About the Role**
The Service Unit Department Manager RN will oversee one or multiple units providing ambulatory services in Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging.
This leadership position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused care in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The role includes responsibility for clinical practice standards, staff development, and operational performance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage operations to ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish and maintain care standards.
- Act as a patient advocate by addressing and resolving patient care issues.
- Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care outcomes.
- Develop, monitor, and optimize budgets and resource allocation.
- Determine appropriate staff mix and oversee the hiring, training, and competency development.
- Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, safety, and risk management issues.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Work closely with the Physician Team Leader and Department Chief on daily operations and service levels.
**Qualifications**
**Basic Qualifications:**
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience in management or leadership roles.
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related health field (or four additional years of directly related experience).
- Active California Registered Nurse License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
*Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience in Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging.
- Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or a related field.
- Experience managing staff with extended roles (RNs, NPs, RTs, etc.).
- Experience managing multiple locations or large, complex projects.
- Familiarity with managing in a labor/management partnership environment.
- Knowledge of PALS, PEARS, or ACLS certifications (specific to certain departments).

Strong understanding of the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and federal regulations.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in a collaborative, diverse environment.
