Job Description:

The Medical Assistant will work as part of a collaborative team to provide high-quality patient care and support clinical operations. Responsibilities include assisting with patient exams and procedures, maintaining medical records, and ensuring a clean and safe healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Upload patient medical records and enter lab results.

  • Measure and document patient vital signs.

  • Update patient medical, surgical, and family history, including medications and allergies.

  • Prepare and assist in various surgical procedures such as egg retrievals, D&Cs, endometrial biopsies, and hysteroscopies.

  • Provide patient instructions as directed by physicians or nurses.

  • Support clinical team and provide front desk coverage as needed.

  • Maintain and clean exam rooms and procedure rooms.

  • Perform and document required checks and maintain all logs.

  • Clean and stock patient examination rooms and supply areas.

  • Follow infection control practices and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Perform phlebotomy (draw and label blood tubes) and send out blood and specimens to outside labs as needed.

  • Wash and autoclave instruments.

  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Experience: Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred, particularly in fertility or obstetrics/gynecology, but not required.

  • Certifications:

    • Current CPR/BLS certification.

    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Excellent customer service skills with a patient-centered approach.

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional work environment (healthcare preferred).

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

    • Ability to work with a compassionate and respectful attitude toward patients and staff.

    • Strong ethical standards and high level of integrity.

       

      Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

    • Use of hands for handling objects, tools, and controls.

    • Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.

    • Ability to talk, hear, taste, and smell.

    • Occasionally lift, push, pull, and move up to 25 pounds.

    • Repetitive upper-body motion required for extended computer use.

    • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
