Senior Veterinarian
Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Medical Care: Your role will involve providing comprehensive medical care to our animal patients. This includes advising on pet care, conducting physical examinations, administering vaccinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, performing surgeries, dental procedures, and, when necessary, administering compassionate euthanasia.
Stay Current in Veterinary Medicine: To uphold the highest standards of care, you'll keep up-to-date with the latest developments in animal medicine, continuously improving your knowledge and skills to ensure that our companions receive the best care available.
Stress-Free and Gentle Care: You will prioritize the comfort and well-being of our animal patients by delivering care in the most gentle and stress-free manner possible.
Transparency and Pet Parent Engagement: Working closely with pet parents, you'll enhance the transparency of the veterinary care provided. You'll educate and involve them in the healthcare decisions for their beloved pets, making them an integral part of the solution.
Team Leadership and Mentorship: You'll play a pivotal role in building and mentoring a team of Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) and Veterinary Assistants (VAs). This includes fostering a culture of teamwork, maintaining high professional standards, and supporting the continuous development of all team members.
Flexibility in Care Delivery: In addition to in-clinic services, you'll also have the flexibility to provide telehealth services. This means you'll be able to offer veterinary care through virtual consultations, meeting the evolving needs of our pet owners.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must have successfully completed a veterinary medical degree from an accredited institution. This degree can be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or an equivalent qualification.
1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Degree: The primary qualification is the successful completion of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or its equivalent from an accredited veterinary medical college.
2. State of California Veterinary License: You should hold a valid and current license to practice veterinary medicine in the State of California. Licensure is essential to ensure that you meet the legal and regulatory requirements to provide medical care for animals within the state.
3. Minimum of 7+ Years of Experience at a Multi-Doctor Veterinary Hospital or Internship: A strong candidate should have a minimum of seven years of practical experience working in a multi-doctor veterinary hospital or have completed a comprehensive internship program in veterinary medicine lasting at least two years.
