Manager/Supervisor
As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for working with clients and staff to deliver tax and consulting services.
The ideal candidate for this position should be a Senior Tax Accountant/Tax Manager with a minimum of three years of experience in specialized tax. The tax practice offers a wide range of opportunities in tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and corporate reorganizations. We welcome candidates with experience in any of these areas.
As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex corporate tax returns, personal tax returns, terminal returns, estate returns, and trust returns along with various information forms.
You will also be responsible for researching and interpreting tax issues for internal staff and external clients, preparing tax memorandums, client letters, and developing opinions on various tax issues.
Additionally, you will assist in the development and implementation of tax and estate planning strategies and corporate reorganizations while liaising with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals. It is important that you remain dedicated to professional development in new tax legislation and case law and train, coach, and supervise junior tax professionals
To qualify for this position, you must have a CPA (CA/CGA/CMA) designation along with a minimum of three years of experience in public accounting, including three years experience in specialized tax.
You should have completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Program or currently be enrolled in the program.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills are a must, along with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
You should also have the ability to manage and mentor junior tax professionals, work in a team environment as well as independently, and proficiency in Caseware, TaxPrep, CCH IntelliConnect and Microsoft Office is an asset.
